Efectividad de un programa de prevención de lesiones en jóvenes bailarinas de danza clásica: una experiencia de fisioterapia comunitaria

[Abstract] Description of the experience. It is a service-learning type project (ApS), in which learning is combined with a service to the community. It consists of the design, implementation and assessment of a program dealing with injury prevention in ballet dancers of the 5th and 6th grade at the Conservatory of Dance from A Coruña. Objective. The general objective for the student has been achieving the specific competences of the subject. The main objective for the dancers has been achieving basic skills and abilities for the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders in classic dance. Development of the experience. The experience was carried out through four main actions: 1. Review of available literature on the prevalence of musculoskeletal injuries and on preventive physiotherapy interventions in ballet dancers. 2. Design of the physiotherapy preventive program based on the available evidence. 3. Evaluation of the dancers before and after the intervention. 4. Application and direction of a physiotherapy intervention to prevent musculoskeletal disorders in ballet dancers, based on educational aspects on injury prevention and therapeutic exercise. Results of the experience. The specific competences and learning outcomes of the TFG subject of the Physiotherapy Degree have been acquired. The student´s self-perception, the valoration from the responsible of the Conservatory and from the teacher, all together, suggested the achieving of the proposed skills. Regarding the dancers, the postintervention values showed lower pain intensity and low back disability and a better proprioception of the lower limb. The satisfaction and perception of changes has been favorable and positive. Conclusions. From the point of view of the participants, during this Learning and Service project, the three intentional perspectives sought are fulfilled: pedagogical, supportive and reflective....

Obxectivo. O obxectivo xeral para o alumno foi adquirir as competencias específicas da asignatura TFG. O obxectivo xeral para os participantes consistiu en adquirir as capacidades e habilidades básicas para a prevención de trastornos músculo-esqueléticos na práctica do ballet. Desenvolvemento da experiencia. A experiencia levouse a cabo mediante catro actuacións principais: 1. Revisión da bibliografía dispoñible sobre prevalencia de lesións músculo-esqueléticas e sobre as intervencións preventivas de fisioterapia en bailarinas de ballet. 2. Deseño do programa preventivo de fisioterapia en base á evidencia dispoñible. 3. Evaluación das bailarinas participantes antes e despois da intervención. 4. Desenvolvemento dunha intervención de fisioterapia para impedir os trastornos músculo-esqueléticos en bailarinas de danza clásica, basada en aspectos educacionais sobre prevención de lesións e exercicio terapéutico. Resultados da experiencia. En canto ás competencias e resultados de aprendizaxe específicos do TFG en Fisioterapia, a autopercepción da alumna, a valoración do responsable do Conservatorio e a valoración da tutora apuntan a que se alcanzaron de manera exitosa. En canto ós resultados alcanzados polas bailarinas, as puntuacións post-intervención indicaron menor intensidad de dolor, de discapacidad lumbar e de mellor propiocepción do membro inferior. A satisfacción e percepción de cambios foi favorable e positiva. Conclusiones. Dende o punto de vista dos participantes abordouse de maneira satisfactoria a triple perspectiva pedagóxica, solidaria e reflexiva característica dos proxectos de ApS....

Programa de intervención de fisioterapia sobre personas cuidadoras de niños con diversidad funcional: un proyecto de aprendizaje y servicio

[Abstract] Work issue. This work consists of a service-learning project related to knowledge and involvement of a developing country´s reality (Nicaragua). It was part of the Final Degree Project and was carried out from July 2017 to February 2018. General purpose. Executing a development cooperation project in collaboration with an NGO, putting the skills acquired in the degree into practice to provide self-care strategies and management to women caregivers of children with functional diversity. Development of experience. Initially, a bibliographic search was carried out to prepare the topic and acquire the necessary knowledge to achieve self-care strategies and management of children with functional diversity for caregivers. After the initial participants´ assessment, the action of physiotherapy was designed and implemented. Finally, a final assessment in which the results were presented and a reflexive analysis of them was made. Results. The comparison of the initial and the final information showed a diminution of the body pain measured with the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Moreover, it was found improvement of the participants´ quality of life (Questionnaire of quality of life SF-36). In addition, it was verified, through a final questionnaire, that the subjects had acquired a greater knowledge of the subject being the overall assessment experience satisfactory by the caregivers. Conclusions. This educational proposal has permitted to train caregivers in self-care and management of the child with functional diversity, as well as achieving the skills of the degree, knowing the reality of an impoverished country, developing and acquiring personal and social skills....
[Resumo] Tipo de traballo. Este traballo consiste nun proxecto de Aprendizaxe e Servizo (ApS) orientado ao coñecemento e á implicación coa realidade dun país en vías de desenvolvemento (Nicaragua). Foi enmarcado na materia de Traballo de Fin de Grao (TFG) e realizouse entre xullo de 2017 e febreiro de 2018. Obxectivo xeral. Executar un proxecto de cooperación ao desenvolvemento en colaboración cunha ONG, poñendo en práctica as habilidades adquiridas no grao para proporcionar estratexias de autocoidado e manexo a mulleres coidadoras de nenos con diversidade funcional. Desenvolvemento da experiencia. Inicialmente realizouse unha busca bibliográfica para a preparación do temario e adquisición dos coñecementos necesarios para proporcionar estratexias de autocoidado e manexo de nenos con diversidade funcional a persoas coidadoras. Despois realizouse unha avaliación inicial dos participantes para deseñar a acción de fisioterapia e a súa posterior execución. Finalmente, unha avaliación final na que se presentaron os resultados e unha análise reflexiva dos mesmos. Resultados. A comparación dos datos iniciais cos finais mostrou unha diminución da dor corporal medida a través da Escala Visual Analóxica da dor (EVA). Do mesmo xeito, atopouse melloría da calidade de vida dos participantes (Cuestionario de calidade de vida SF-36). Ademais, verificouse, mediante un cuestionario final, que os suxeitos adquiriron un maior coñecemento da materia abordada sendo a avaliación global da experiencia satisfactoria por parte dos coidadores. Conclusións. Esta proposta educativa permitiu capacitar a persoas coidadoras sobre autocoidado e manexo de nenos con diversidade funcional, así como acadar as competencias do grao, coñecer a realidade dun país empobrecido, desenvolver e adquirir habilidades e competencias persoais e sociais....

[Abstract] Many motor disorders can cause chronic disabilities that limit the quality of life of people who suffer from them. Rehabilitation robotics has proven to be effective in combination with conventional therapy, although many patients suffering from these conditions are often excluded from such therapies. The SPLASH project aims to investigate a new rehabilitation paradigm combining robotic rehabilitation and aquatic therapy, which has led to the development of new aquatic hybrid actuators. The NOHA project is further studying these systems to develop a proof of concept. This paper summarizes the design process of an aquatic hybrid actuator, with particular reference to its application in an upper-limb robotic device. First, the equations that model the behavior of the system are presented. Next, the design requirements are established, a conceptual design is presented and the components to be used are selected. Finally, lines of future work in the development of this device are proposed....

[Abstract] In the current work, we report the process of implementation, along three academic years, of a Service Learning project. The experience was carried out in a mandatory subject about educational mathematics, given in the second quadrimester of the first course of the Primary Education Degree. Two particular communities received the service: minors at risk of social exclusion risk, and minors with functional diversity. We describe the full process, from the initial draft, the putting in touch with the various social entities, the intermediation of the university, to the design of the activities in coordination with the university students and the social entities, and the assessment of the learning and service results. We pay special attention to the reflections that derive from the adaptation of the general Service Learning procedure to the particular characteristics of the relationship between the university were the project was implemented and its social context. Related to this, we introduced several innovations in the implementation protocol that could be applicable to other universities with similar contextual characteristics, regardless of the academic subject in which the Serve Learning is conducted....

O estereotipo antigalego na literatura española moderna: xénese, desenvolvemento e consolidación

Baixo o título de O estereotipo antigalego na literatura española moderna: xénese, desenvolvemento e consolidación, a presente tese de doutoramento analiza a imaxe negativa que acompañou a Galiza e o pobo galego na produción literaria española entre os séculos XVI e XIX.
A fin de integrar as diferentes reflexións e estudos dedicados á galaicofobia e o estereotipo antigalego moderno, especialmente numerosos desde a segunda metade do século XX, esta investigación desenvólvese no seo da multidisciplinariedade ao abordar este fenómeno estereotípico a través dun corpus documental nomeadamente heteroxéneo. Baixo esta perspectiva, cobran especial significado neste estudo aqueles postulados e teorías emanados da psicoloxía social, por canto permiten estabelecer paralelismos entre o caso galego e outros grupos étnicos e/ou nacionais, singularmente no eido das relacións centro-periferia.
Para alén de manifestar a existencia dun estereotipo do Outro, marcado por características notadamente negativas dun punto de vista social, a análise textual apunta a unha confluencia de diversos factores culturais, socioeconómicos e políticos como orixe e conformación do estereotipo antigalego moderno. A influencia exercida por estes elementos no imaxinario colectivo castelán −e posteriormente español−, así como o seu contexto determinativo, condúcenos a unha comprensión global do estereotipo antigalego a través de diferentes estadios e/ou períodos....
[Abstract] Under the title The anti-Galician stereotype in modern Spanish literature: genesis, development and consolidation, this doctoral thesis analyses the negative image associated with Galicia and the Galician people in the Spanish literary production between the 16th and the 19th centuries. In order to integrate the different reflections and studies dedicated to the anti-Galician sentiment and to the modern anti-Galician stereotype, especially numerous since the second half of the 20th century, this research is developed within the framework of multidisciplinary approach to this stereotypical phenomenon through an eminently heterogeneous documentary corpus. From this perspective, those postulates and theories emanating from social psychology acquire special significance in this study, since they allow us to draw parallels between the Galician case and other ethnic and/or national groups, particularly in the field of centre-periphery relations. In addition to manifesting the existence of a stereotype of the “Other”, marked by fundamentally negative characteristics from a social point of view, the textual analysis points to a confluence of various cultural, socio-economic and political factors as the origin and conformation of the modern anti-Galician stereotype. The influence exerted by these elements on the Collective Castilian imaginary, and later Spanish, as well as its determinative context, leads us to a global understanding of the anti-Galician stereotype through different stages and/or periods....
