| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | [Abstract]: The subsequent investigation studies the gross salaried income of Spaniards with data from the Living Conditions Survey of 2019. We do estimations using the following methods: Ordinary Least Squares and Quantile Regression. The quartiles are divided into the poorest 25% income quartiles, the 50% and wealth 25%. The variables defined as explanatory are years of study, work experience, health status, gender, presence of the father in childhood and/or adolescence and the family educational level of the respondent. The objective is to study the income of Spaniards controlling for individual characteristics and characteristics derived from family conditions. The conclusion is that education is a potential social transformer, being the most positive impact variable. Poor health condition has a negative coefficient and is more important for those in the lower quartiles. The group defined here as family characteristics (presence of the father and maximum level of study in the family unit) has a more significant impact for women, suggesting greater intergenerational immobility in the female case. This work discusses the importance of investigating the effect on the individual of their growth conditions, as well as using data to determine public policies favoring an increasingly fairer society. | es_ES |
