À entrada do mês de maio, à saída da Primavera: notas para o estudo da sintaxe do romanceiro da tradición oral moderna portuguesa

Abstract

[Resumo] Aínda que teñan sido dados á estampa algúns estudos sobre as especificidades da linguaxe do xénero literario Romanceiro, constatamos que eses estudos se debruzan maioritariamente sobre aspectos como a presenza e a importancia das fórmulas, as inversións da orde linear dos itens lexicais nas frases, a maior frecuencia de diálogo en detrimento da narración, as alternancias de tempos verbais e o estilo. Na realidade, o estudo de aspectos relacionados coas especificidades da sintaxe do verso do romanceiro tem sido, até ao momento e que saibamos, preterido a favor do estudo das estruturas verbais simples e do estudo das estruturas formulísticas. Partindo do incipit portugués do romance Aparição/Soldado (La Aparición/El Quintado – IGR 0168 e 0176, respectivamente), procuraremos salientar algúns aspectos da estrutura da frase que compón o verso de romances da tradición oral moderna portuguesa. En particular, centraremos a nosa atención na presenza/ausencia de vocativos e nos marcadores temporais, contribuíndo para o estudo da lingua dos romances e, simultaneamente, para o estudo da linguaxe poética do xénero romanceiro.

[Abstract] Although some studies have been published on the specificities of the language of the balladic literary genre, we found that these studies mainly focus on aspects such as the presence and importance of formulas, the inversions of the linear order of lexical items in sentences, the increased frequency of dialogue at the expense of narration, the alternations of verb tenses and on the style. In reality, the study of aspects related to the specifics of the syntax of the verse of the ballads has been, so far and as far as we know, neglected in favor of the study of simple verbal structures and the study of formulaic structures. Starting from the Portuguese incipit of the ballad Aparição/Soldado(La Aparición/El Quintado – IGR 0168 and 0176, respectively), we will seek to highlight some aspects of the sentence structure that composes the verse of ballads of the portuguese modern oral tradition. In particular, we will focus our attention on the presence/absence of vocatives and on the temporal markers, contributing to the study of the language of the ballads and, simultaneously, to the study of the poetic language of the ballad genre.
