La salud en la teoría feminista

Abstract

[Resumen] Se expone la histórica interpelación del feminismo a los discursos científicos y filosóficos sobre la lábil y débil salud de las mujeres, atribuida a su biología, argumentando que son las limitaciones impuestas en sus vidas por las estructuras materiales y simbólicas del patriarcado las que debilitan y dañan su salud. Se identifica la política sanitaria del patriarcado como una herramienta indispensable para el control y la subordinación de las mujeres, que se ha aplicado históricamente a través los discursos científico-sanitarios, las prácticas clínicas, los diagnósticos y tratamientos, la sanitarización y medicalización normalizada y sistemática de las mujeres. Se concluye que el imaginario creado por el patriarcado sobre la salud de las mujeres y su proclividad natural al desarrollo de malestares físicos y emocionales subyace bajo la objetividad de la ciencia y continúa vigente en las prácticas sanitarias actuales.

[Abstract] This article exposes the historical interpellation of feminism to the scientific and philosophical discourses on the labile and weak health of women, which these discourses attribute to biology .On the contrary the feminist discourse argues that it is the limitations imposed in their lives by the material and symbolic structures of patriarchy that weaken and damage women´s health The health policy of patriarchy is identified as an indispensable tool for the control and subordination of women, which has been applied historically through scientifichealth discourses, clinical practices, diagnoses and treatments, sanitarization and the standardized and systematic medicalization of women. It is concluded that the imaginary created by the patriarchy about the health of women and their natural proclivity to the development of physical and emotional discomforts underlies the objectivity of science and continues to be applied incurrent health practices.
