[Abstract] Audio-visual advertising and audio-visual fiction subjects are both taught in the first four-month term of the Audio-visual Communication Degree of the University of A Corunha. Both Professors of the subjects coordinated in the 2018-19 academic year a joint practice for the students in order to offer a society service to the A Coruña citizens. The essence of that practice was to use the professional skills the students acquired in both subjects for the service of the animal reception centers in the city and its surroundings. In this way, the “self-awareness” of their professional work was promoted as a good for the social environment, as well as as a means of personal subsistence and, at the same time, students were trained in values as aninnovation teaching methodology....

[Abstract] This education proposal for students of the Diploma in Food Processing uses a challenge-based learning methodology as a way of promoting active learning. The challenge presented to students was to develop a salmon-based dish using five professional modules. The challenge-based methodology was found to increase the students’ motivation, improve their participation in learning, and encourage the acquisition of skills such as problem-solving and critical thinking. Despite these positive findings, the results also highlighted the need for significant adaptations for students with learning limitations and the importance of specific teacher training and assessment to implement this methodology effectively....

[Abstract] The application in university subjects of the pedagogical methodology called service-learning (hereafter APS) helps students acquire transversal skills that until now have not been sufficiently worked on. I started by putting this into practice in one of the lines of work proposed by the Faculty of Philology of the University of Philology (UDC) for the end-of-degree assignments. In particular, that of "Spanish as a foreign language" (hereafter ELE), which focuses on methodological issues of that area and in which teaching proposals and other aspects related to learning and teaching of ELE are included. One of my students accepted the challenge of designing and putting into practice a didactic unit with adult immigrants in a NGO in A Coruña, Ecodesarrollo Gaia. Many results have been obtained after applying APS: from the improvement of the social and labour integration of immigrants to the achievement of the essential purpose of our University, that is, to be a "qualit y public service aimed at achieving higher levels of welfare for the whole society..."...

[Abstract] Psoriatic Arthritis (PAs) is a chronic, inflammatory arthropathy which is included within the group of the seronegative spondyloarthropathies. It is a systemic disease with articular and extra-articular involvement. Clinical features are not just confined to peripheral joint involvement, but may also comprise enthesitis, dactylitis, tendinopathies and axial involvement. Different onset patterns have been described. The most common of them is the asymmetric polyarticular pattern, which affects the hands, wrists and feet, being the distal interphalangeal joints the most affected areas. The prevalence in Spain is 0.2% in the general population, with presence of psoriasis in 13.8% of cases. This research project arose from the observation of both the anatomic proximity between the nail matrix and the entheses of the extensor tendon, and the documented presence of nail psoriasis in PAs patients. The main objective of this project is to analyze the relationship between toe extensor tendon enthesitis and the presence of nail psoriasis in patients with PAs. Secondary objectives of the project are; firstly, to establish the percentage of patients with PAs who have nail psoriasis; secondly, to assess the quality of life in patients with PAs, based on radiological damage of the distal interphalangeal joint and the presence of nail psoriasis; thirdly, to evaluate the functionality of the feet in patients with PAs with and without nail psoriasis; and finally, to assess the psychological impact of both PAs and nail psoriasis. To achieve these goals we designed a descriptive observational study with a sample of 482 patients (n=482) with PAs diagnosed by the Service of Rheumatology of the UNIVERSITY Complex of Ferrol Hospital.
