Un test de vocabulario en galego (T-vogal)

Abstract

[Resumo] O propósito desta investigación era construír un test de resposta Si/Non que permitira estima-lo tamaño do vocabulario coñecido por escolares galegos en lingua galega. O test consta de dúas baterías, composta cada unha por cinco subtests. Un subtest ten, á súa vez, 40 palabras e 20 pseudopalabras. Administrouse a unha mostra de escolares de 6º de educación primaria e de 2º de ESO de Galicia (N = 575). A fiabilidade obtida para toda a mostra, correlacionando os datos das dúas baterías, foi de r = 0.81; para a mostra de 6º, r = 0,793 e para a de 2º, r = 0,807. A validez de construto quedou avalada pola capacidade da proba para discriminar entre grupos de escolares diferenciados. A validez de contido susténtase no procedemento empregado na construción do test e na correspondencia observada entre a dificultade dos ítems xulgada por tres profesores expertos e a dificultade que efectivamente tiveron para os escolares. A validez concorrente xustifícase coas aceptables correlacións obtidas entre coas puntuacións no test e o rendemento académico dos suxeitos na área de lingua galega. O instrumento resulta útil para estima-lo número de palabras coñecidas por un suxeito ou por un grupo e tamén permite compara-la puntuación dun suxeito coa do seu grupo normativo.

[Abstract] This research aim was to produce a yes-no test capable of estimating the size of known receptive vocabulary of Galician language by Galician students. The test comprises two batteries, each of them formed by five subtests, and each subtest in turn consists of 40 words and 20 pseudowords. The test was administered to a sample of students in the 6th year of 110 primary school and 2nd year of seondary education, totalling N = 575. A test reliability of r = 0.81 was obtained for the whole sample, correlating both batteries; for years 6th and 2nd, reliability was 0.79 and 0.81, respectively. Test construct validity was confirmed by its capability for discriminating between differents groups of students. Content validity was assured through the procedure followed in the construction of the test as well as correspondence of word difficulty as emprically observed. Concurrent validity is backed up by acceptable correlations between scores in the test and academic achievement in Galician language. The test is therefore considered useful for estimating the number of words known either by a particular subject or a group, and also for comparing an individual score with those of a normative group
