Las arcillas cuaternarias del valle inferior del Guadalquivir y las cerámicas del Cerro Macareno (Sevilla)

Abstract

[Resumen] Se estudian 20 muestras pertenecientes a 16 fragmentos cerámicosdel yacimiento arqueológico de Cerro Macareno (Sevilla), correspondientes a diversos horizontes culturales comprendidos entre el Bronce Final (nivel 26) y el Periodo Ibérico Final (niveles 6 al 1). El yacimiento, distante 9 Km. Al N-Ne de Sevilla, se sitúa en el aluvial del Guadalquivir, cuyo nivel corresponde a la terraza media QT2 ' próximo al contacto entre la llanura cuaternaria del Guadalquivir y las Iormaciones hercínicas de su margen derecha. Mediante las técnicas del análisis químico, análisis térmico diferencial, difracción de rayos X y pruebas de cocción se ha podido establecer la naturaleza mineralógica de los materiales, cuyos componentes se identifican con los de las arcillas aluviales inmediatas al yacimiento, de naturaleza ilítica, con altos contenidos en cuarzo, feldespatos y cantidades variables de carbonatos. Asimismo, se establecen las posibles temperaturas límite de cocción de estos productos

[Abstract] Twenty samples corresponding to 16 ceramic fragments from the archaeological site "Cerro Macareno" (Seville), belonging to a variety of cultural periods between the Final Bronce (level 26) and the Final Iberian Period (levels 6 to 1) have been studied the archaeological site, ca 9 Km N-NE from Seville is lócated in the Guadalquivir alluvial deposits, at a level corresponding to the QT terrace, near the contact line of the quaternary Guadalquivir plane with the hercinic formations at the river's right hand bank. The mineralogical composition of the materials investigated has been stablished by chemical analysis, thermogravimetric differential analysis (TDA), X-ray diffraction methods and firing tests, and individual components in the materials have been found to be identical to those present in the alluvial deposits clays of illitic nature, whith high quartz contents, feldspars and variable amounts of carbonates, located near the archaeological site.
