El libro antiguo navarro en las fuentes archivísticas del siglo XVII

Abstract

[Resumen] Los archivos históricos albergan un rico corpus documental que permite a los investigadores rescatar fieles testimonios sobre la Historia del Libro. Para mostrarlo, este artículo pretende reconstruir determinados aspectos del Libro Antiguo en la Navarra del siglo XVII a través de documentos de archivo, como los procesos judiciales y las escrituras notariales. Así se constatan todo tipo de informaciones sobre los actores (impresor, librero, autor, editor) que intervenían en la imprenta de la época, los productos que se editaron y aquellos que simplemente se planearon. A su vez, podemos acercarnos a las características materiales de los impresos navarros y a los entresijos comerciales que imperaron en el reino durante dicha centuria.

[Abstract] The historical archives have a rich documentary corpus that allows researchers to rescue faithful testimonies about the History of the Book. To show it, this article intends to reconstruct certain aspects of the Old Book in Navarre of the seventeenth century through archival documents, such as judicial processes and notarial deeds. Thus, all kinds of information about the actors (printer, bookseller, author, editor) that intervened in the printing press of the time, the products that were published and those that were simply planned were verified. In turn, we can approach the material characteristics of navarrese print and the commercial intricacies that prevailed in the kingdom during that century.
