Violencia de xénero e arte: violación e feminicidio na obra de Regina José Galindo

Abstract

[Resumo] A violación e o feminicidio son dous dos ataques de violencia contra as mulleres máis crueis e tristemente máis frecuentes. A arte actual non é allea a este problema, e artistas como Regina José Galindo, en Guatemala, están implicadas/os en denunciar os abusos cometidos contra as mulleres a través das súas creacións. Regina Galindo é unha artista visual ou executante (performer) especializada en body art cuxo feminismo a levou a sentirse especialmente implicada en cuestións de xénero, polo que a muller é un dos temas recorrentes nas súas obras, malia que sempre violada, agredida ou oprimida. O outro tema que domina o seu traballo é o conflito armado que tivo lugar en Guatemala entre 1960 e 1996 e causou miles de vítimas, moitas delas mulleres ou nenas/os. Con base nestes dous temas e algunhas obras de arte e cunha forte motivación política, de denuncia e reivindicación, analizaranse as creacións concibidas por Regina Galindo á volta de casos de violencia de xénero

[Abstract] Rape and femicide are two of the cruellest and, sadly, most frequent assaults of violence against women. Current art is no stranger to this problem and artists such as the Guatemalan Regina José Galindo are involved in denouncing the abuses committed against women through their artistic creations. Regina Galindo is a visual artist or performer, specialized in body art, and her feminism leads her to feel especially involved with gender issues, which is why women are one of the recurring themes in her works, but always the woman who is violated, assaulted or oppressed. The other issue that dominates his work is the armed conflict in Guatemala that took place between 1960-1996 and ended in thousands of victims, many of them women or children. With these two themes and some works of art with a strong political charge, of denunciation and vindication will be analysed the creations of Regina Galindo conceived around cases of gender violence
