Formas y medios de comunicación usados por el movimiento estudiantil chileno en los años 2006 y 2011

Abstract

[Resumen] Esta investigación busca analizar y comparar las formas y los medios de comunicación que el movimiento estudiantil chileno adoptó durante los años 2006 y 2011 para sus procesos de organización, coordinación y difusión. Para alcanzar este objetivo se consultaron los fundamentos teóricos que han estudiado a los movimientos sociales actuales, así como al uso y la apropiación que estos últimos hacen de internet, las TIC y los viejos y nuevos medios de comunicación. La revisión documental permitió describir el objeto de esta investigación, cuyos resultados arrojaron las siguientes conclusiones: 1) las formas y los medios de comunicación de los movimientos sociales han cambiado desde que estos hacen uso de internet y las TIC; 2) el movimiento estudiantil chileno combinó viejas y nuevas formas de comunicación tanto en el año 2006 como en el 2011, y 3) quienes participaron en el movimiento en el período estudiado utilizaron viejos y nuevos medios de comunicación, destacando el uso de las TIC, internet y las redes sociales digitales.

[Abstract] This research seeks to analyze and compare the forms and the communication media that the Chilean student’s movement adopted during 2006 and 2011 for its organization, coordination and diffusion processes. To reach this objective, theoretical assumptions, that have studied the current social movements, were consulted, as well as the use and appropriation that social movements have given to the Internet, the ICTs and the old and new media. The documentary review allowed to describe the object of this research, which results gave the following conclusions: 1) The forms and communication media used by social movements have changed since they use the internet and the ICTs; 2) the Chilean student’s movement combined old and new forms of communication both in 2006 and 2011, and 3) those who participated in the movement during each year used old and new communication media, highlighting the use of the ICTs, the Internet and the new social media.
