O museu enquanto facilitador ou educador de valores ambientais

Abstract

[Resumo] O presente trabalho teve como objectivo fazer uma reflexão sobre o papel dos museus enquanto educadores para os valores ambientais e de cidadania. O estudo de caso incide sobre o Museu da Água da EPAL (Empresa Portuguesa das Águas Livres), através da análise da sua dinâmica com as escolas e estudo dos materiais produzidos pelos alunos no contexto do concurso anual promovido por esta instituição.A cultura, a família, a religião e a sociedade onde o indivíduo está inserido, todos estes factores são influenciadores dos valores. Deste modo, julgamos que o museu deveria assumir a sua responsabilidade social para além do ponto de vista tradicional (divulgação e conservação do património) e assumir-se como um agente de mudança e de educador para os valores.

[Abstract] The present enquiry aims at making a reflection over the role of museums while educators for the values and more concretely of its importance in regards to the environmental and citizenship values. We will be presenting the case study of the Water Museum of Empresa Portuguesa das Águas Livres (EPAL), through the analysis of its dynamic with schools and more specifically through the analysis of the materials produced by the students in the annual competition promoted by this institution.Culture, family, religion and the society in general where the individual is inserted, all these factors are influences to the values. We believe that the museum should assume its social responsibility beyond the traditional point of view, of divulging and preserving the patrimony and assume itself as an agent of change and an educator for the values
