Ciudad saludable, ciudad turística: espacialización de imaginarios y prácticas urbanas (Rosario, Argentina)

Abstract

[Resumen] El creciente proceso de turistificación de la ciudad y la ponderación de la experiencia urbana encuentra en el imaginario de lo saludable un recurso de competitividad que, por un lado repercute en la construcción de ciertos espacios urbanos y, por otro, induce a la promoción de ciertas prácticas y hábitos.

El objetivo principal de este artículo es analizar las condiciones de posibilidad que operan en la conformación del imaginario urbano saludable en Rosario (Argentina), cómo incide en su proceso de turistificación y, por último, cómo interviene en la configuración del espacio público. Se emplea una estrategia metodológica cualitativa que combina el relevamiento documental y hemerográfico y el análisis de contenido de discursividades oficiales en torno a la planificación urbana y turística en combinación con recorridos etnográficos por los espacios urbanos para reconstruir algunos rasgos que nos permitan comprender las estrategias de composición urbana y turística. Se pudo comprobar que la imaginación espacial de lo saludable anclada en el espacio público recupera algo de la matriz de sentidos del higienismo decimonónico y lo actualiza a través de un disciplinamiento específico de la experiencia corporal en la ciudad contemporánea donde se intersectan lo turístico, la salud y la belleza. Esta imaginería se materializa en discursos y planificaciones, en la reconfiguración de las prácticas y espacios urbanos y, fundamentalmente, en la emergencia de una nueva subjetividad: el paciente/turista

[Abstract] Healthy city, tourist city. Spacialization of imaginaries and urban practices (Rosario, Argentina). The increasing process of touristification of the city and the weighting of the urban experience find in the healthy imaginary a resource of competitiveness. On one hand affects the construction of specific urban areas and on the other, induces to the promotion of certain practices and habits. The main objective of this article is to analyze the conditions of possibility that operate in the conformation of the healthy urban imaginary in Rosario (Argentina), how this affects their touristification process and, finally, how it intervenes in the configuration of public spaces. We used a qualitative strategy that combines documentary and hemerographic report with analysis of content of official discursivities around urban and tourist planning in combination with ethnographic tours of urban spaces to reconstruct some features that allow us to understand the strategies of urban and tourist composition. It was possible to verify that the spatial imagination of the healthy anchored in the public space recovers something of the counterfoil of senses of the nineteenth hygienism and updates through a specific discipline of corporal experience in the contemporary city where tourism intersect, health and beauty. This imagery is embodied in speeches and planning, in the reconfiguration of urban spaces and practices and, fundamentally, in the emergence of a new subjectivity: the patient / tourist.
