Actualizar la memoria: usos rituales de la Ofrenda al Santísimo Sacramento de Lugo

Abstract

[Resumen]: Las prácticas celebrativas tradicionales, dado su carácter participativo y creativo, no son objetos inertes, dóciles al formal encorsetamiento patrimonial, sino procesos dinámicos cuyo efecto consiste en actualizar participativamente la experiencia de la realidad, llegando no solo a expresar fenómenos de permanencia y cambio sociocultural, sino incluso a inducirlos, hasta interactuar transformadoramente con el entorno experiencial en el que tales prácticas se desenvuelven. El presente trabajo analiza estructural e interpretativamente el caso de la gran Ofrenda al Santísimo Sacramento de Lugo en sus variables contextos históricos, a la vez que propone una memoria patrimonial de la misma: ceremonia solemne que contribuye a instituir ritualmente el colosal y complejo edificio sociopolítico, convivencial y cosmológico de la sociedad gallega.

[Abstract]: Traditional celebrative practices, given their participative and creative nature, are not inert objects, which meekly obey the formal restrictions of heritage, but they are dynamic processes whose effect consists in participatively updating the experience of reality, not just expressing phenomena of permanence and social-cultural change, but even inducing them, until they interact transformingly with the experimental environment in which such practices take place. This work structurally and interpretatively analyses the case of the great Offer to the Holy Sacrament of Lugo in its variable historical contexts. It also proposes a patrimonial memory of the offer: a solemn ceremony that contributes to ritually establishing the colossal and complex social-political, co-existential and cosmological edifice of the Galician society.
