Resumo
[Abstract] Before proceeding to the analysis of the situation of attributive adjectives in earlier
stages of the language I will be concerned with the characteristics of the category "adjective" in present day English and the status of participles so as to know what to include or not for my analysis. Such a goal can be only achieved by taking into consideration different criteria: morphological, semantic, syntactic and word-order.
