O olhar do idoso sobre si e o imaginário social

Abstract

[RESUMO] A abordagem do tema, O olhar do idoso sobre si e o imaginário social, tem como objetivo analisar a perceção do idoso sobre o seu envelhecimento, através do seu olhar e o imaginário social. Se as funções fisiológicas podem manter-se ou ser melhoradas com a idade e com exercício apropriado, as manifestações de envelhecimento são percebidas de forma diferente pelos indivíduos, em combinações variadas e idades distintas, conferindo ao envelhecimento uma marca individual. São várias as construções sociais da velhice que, na maioria das vezes, assentam na forma como o imaginário social de cada um constrói essa visão e que, não sendo neutra, avalia e atribui verdadeiros ou falsos juízos de valor. Cada sociedade cria uma imagem que está de acordo com os seus valores, independentemente da idade, do género, do estado civil, do momento em que um indivíduo se considera idoso e o que sente quando é olhado como uma pessoa idosa. As opiniões são construídas através de tecnologias/pedagogias sociais que vão da educação formal à informal pois, hoje em dia, estão abertas inúmeras possibilidades de produção e divulgação, na medida em que se criam estruturas, instituições, normas, modelos, comportamentos e valores divulgados em termos de verdades, tradição, evidências de novos paradigmas das relações sociais. Uma amostra por conveniência e a utilização de uma metodologia qualitativa e uma análise de conteúdo realizada com os dados recolhidos através de uma entrevista semiestruturada permitir-nos-ão uma análise e uma reflexão crítica essenciais à construção de algumas considerações finais sobre a problemática enunciada. [ABSTRACT] The approach to the subject, The look on the elderly themselves and the social imaginary, aims to analyze the perception of the elderly on their aging, through his eyes and the social imaginary. If the physiological functions can be retained or improved with age and with appropriate exercise, signs of aging are perceived differently by individuals , in varying combinations and different ages , giving the aging individual brand . There are several social constructions of old age that , in most cases , based on how the social imaginary of each building that vision and that , not being neutral , evaluates and assigns true or false value judgments . Every society creates an image that is consistent with their values, regardless of age, gender, marital status, the moment an individual is considered old and he feels when it is looked at as an elder. Opinions are built using technologies / social pedagogies that go from formal to informal education because , nowadays, are open numerous possibilities for production and dissemination , in so far as they create structures , institutions , norms, standards, behaviors and values disclosed in terms of truth , tradition , evidence of new paradigms of social relations . A convenience sample and the use of a qualitative methodology and content analysis performed with the data collected through semi-structured interviews will allow us an analysis and critical thinking essential to the construction of some final thoughts on the problem stated.
