Las transformaciones sufridas en los edificios del casco histórico de Lugo en el segundo cuarto del siglo XX, a través de los expedientes de obras del ayuntamiento

Abstract

[Resumen] En ocasiones los expedientes de obras municipales nos permiten conocer el aspecto, casi siempre externo, la fachada principal, pero también la distribución de los espacios interiores, de edificios que serán derribados para ser sustituidos por otros de nueva planta. Aunque no era obligatorio el hacerlo, los arquitectos en algunos casos nos muestran el estado actual que ofrecía ese viejo edificio y al lado el aspecto del nuevo a construir. Casi siempre sucede con edificios barrocos, hoy perdidos, raramente documentados, que en todo caso despertaron el interés de estos profesionales, demostrando una sensibilidad especial en este sentido. Resultan mucho más frecuentes las alteraciones producidas en los huecos, especialmente de las plantas bajas, que sufrirán grandes transformaciones al actualizarse los comercios en ellas situados. A través de estos dibujos es posible reconstruir el aspecto original de una parte importante de estos edificios y recuperar la de otros desgraciadamente desaparecidos, en unos años, el segundo cuarto del siglo XX, en los que su valoración y conservación estaban bien lejos de las actuales. A través de este tipo de documentación estudiamos lo ocurrido en la ciudad de Lugo, centrándonos en su casco histórico, dentro del recinto que rodean sus murallas.

[Abstract] Sometimes the files of municipal works allow us to know the appearance, almost always external, the main façade, but also the distribution of the interior spaces, of buildings that will be demolished to be replaced by new ones. Although it was not obligatory to do so, the architects in some cases show us the current state that that old building offered and next to it the appearance of the new one to be built. It almost always happens with baroque buildings, now lost, rarely documented, which in any case aroused the interest of these professionals, demonstrating a special sensitivity in this regard. The alterations produced in the openings are much more frequent, especially on the ground floors, which will undergo major transformations when the shops located in them are updated. . Through these drawings, it is possible to reconstruct the original appearance of an important part of these buildings and recover that of others that unfortunately disappeared, in a few years, the second quarter of the 20th century, in which their valuation and conservation were far from the current ones. Through this type of documentation we study what happened in the city of Lugo, focusing on its historic center, within the enclosure that surrounds its walls.
