Intervenciones perniciosas contra el patrimonio cultural y su repercusión en el turismo

Abstract

[Resumen] El objetivo principal de este estudio es investigar las repercusiones turísticas de daños al patrimonio a partir de intervenciones perniciosas (con/sin intención dolosa). Paralelamente, se analizan los motivos que llevan a cometer estas actuaciones, así como dar a conocer las medidas y acciones tomadas. Para ello se seleccionaron 6 recursos patrimoniales por su relevancia social y su repercusión en medios de comunicación. La metodología cualitativa‑cuantitativa empleada analiza el contenido de noticias surgidas en prensa, junto con entrevistas en profundidad a 11 expertos/profesionales en la materia. Los resultados revelan que es necesario aplicar con mayor determinación las sanciones hacia los actos de irresponsabilidad social contra el patrimonio, además de poner en marcha medidas preventivas político‑administrativas de protección y control del patrimonio cultural, más efectivas. Finalmente, se propone trabajar una serie de áreas, entre las cuales el turismo se perfila como una vía que permite proyectar la interpretación del patrimonio/educación como estrategia de concienciación y responsabilidad social

[Abstract] The main goal of this study is to investigate the tourist effects on heritage damage caused by per‑ nicious interventions (whether such are intentional or not). At the same time, it seeks to analyse the reasons that lead to these actions and also to make these measures and actions known. Six (6) heritage resources were selected as objects on account of their social relevance and impact in the media. The qualitative‑quantitative methodology used is based on the content analysis of the news in the press along with interviews held with 11 experts/professionals in the field. The results reveal that it is necessary to apply strong sanctions against irresponsible acts towards heritage, besides implementing more political and administrative measures of protection and control of cultural heritage. Finally, a proposal is put forward to work in a series of areas where tourism emerges to project heritage interpretation as a strategy to contribute to awareness‑raising and social responsibility.
