[Abstract]: Sea turtles are organisms that make great migratory journeys throughout their lives. To
orient yourself and navigate through a wide variety of signals and strategies. In the present
work, it is intended to clarify the possible orientation mechanisms that use these reptiles.
Magnetic field are, in principle, the signal that prevails in these trips, but it is checked if
there are others that accompany or replace when it is not present or can not appear. After
the review, it is confirmed that the mechanism by excellence is the terrestial magnetic field.
This geomagnetic signal is on the one hand, innate (magnetic map) and on the other,
learned after successives migrations (magnetic compass). In addition, non-magnetic
signals also play an important role in the orientation of sea turtles, but it is yet a filed of
research for which no definitive conclusions can be drawn from them.
