En busca del tiempo perdido

Abstract

[Resumen] Soñar con el futuro representa las esperanzas o las inseguridades que se sienten ante lo desconocido. Vivimos una época de transición, prestos a comenzar en España una novedosa y enriquecedora etapa histórica de Terapia Ocupacional (TO). Se necesitarán cuatro elementos para definir adecuadamente los nuevos planes de estudio que elaboraremos durante los años 2008 y 2009, a saber: directrices, competencias, marco jurídico legal convergente y compromiso emocional y esforzado de los profesionales y los profesores de TO. La diversidad en los planteamientos universitarios enriquecerá el panorama conceptual de la TO. Se van a formar terapeutas ocupacionales con ejercicio en la asistencia, la docencia, la investigación y la gestión en los diversos ámbitos de actuación: sanitario, socio-sanitario, educativo, docente y de asesoramiento. La TO española se va a desarrollar sin limitaciones de forma similar que en otros países de corte occidental. El futuro está abierto a todo tipo de expectativas laborales para los terapeutas ocupacionales. La TO ya es una profesión madura y sólida que valora y trata la “disfunción” de la persona con “función en estado puro”. Su modelo, compartido con otras profesiones de salud, fomenta el uso de técnicas de reeducación funcional para mantener o mejorar las capacidades residuales, promociona la autonomía personal, mejora la calidad de la vida y adapta funcionalmente el entorno de personas con discapacidad o marginadas socialmente. Su cuerpo doctrinal es específico y único: la Ciencia Ocupacional. La TO renace como el ave fénix. ¡Viva la TO¡.

[Abstract] To dream of the future represents the hopes or the insecurities that are felt in relation with what we do not know. We live a transition time, ready to begin in Spain a novel and enriching historical stage of Occupational Therapy (OT). Four elements will be needed to define appropriately the new study plans that we will elaborate during the years 2008 and 2009, which are: guidelines, competences, the convergent legal juridical mark and the OT professors and professionals' commitment against the emotional and effort issues. The diversity among the university positions will enrich the conceptual panorama of the OT. Occupational therapists will be formed with exercise in the attendance, the academia, the investigation and the administration in the diverse OT´s environments of performance:sanitarium, social-sanitarium, educational, academical and related to the assessment. The Spanish OT will develop without limitations in a similar way than in other countries of the occidental world. The future is open to all type of labor expectations for the occupational therapists. The OT is already a mature and solid profession that values and treats the person's "dysfunction" with "function in pure" state. Its model, shared with other professions of health, foments the use of functional re-education technics in order to maintain or to improve the residual capacities, promotes the personal autonomy, improves the quality of the life and adapts functionally the environment of people with disability or excluded socially. Their doctrinal body is specific and unique: the Occupational Science. The OC revives as the bird phoenix. Hurrah for the OT!.
