[Resumen] El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo hacer un análisis del uso que los estudiantes de
español de la University of Malaya hacen de los traductores automáticos (TA) en línea,
más concretamente, de Google Translate. Para lograrlo, se ha elaborado una encuesta
que ha sido respondida por veintiún aprendientes de español de diferentes niveles de
alcance. Asimismo, se han querido mostrar los beneficios de los TA como herramienta
pedagógica en el ámbito universitario de la enseñanza de idiomas, que, con su uso
controlado y la ayuda de la figura del profesor, favorecen el aprendizaje consciente, la
atención a la forma y la participación activa del alumnado en su propio proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje.
[Abstract] The aim of this paper is to analyze the use of online translators by the Spanish students of the University of Malaya, specifically Google Translate. To achieve this, a survey has been prepared that has been answered by twenty-one Spanish learners of different levels of scope. Likewise, they wanted to show the benefits of the TA as a pedagogical tool in the university field of language teaching, which, with its controlled use and the help of the figure of the teacher, favor the conscious learning, the attention to the form and the active participation of students in their own teaching-learning process
