Abstract
[Resumen]: En el perfil demográfico de la actualidad se observa un aumento significante de la población envejecida. El mayor porcentaje de esta población reside en la comunidad. Una de las principales causas de hospitalización y muerte de las personas mayores son las caídas, suponiendo a su vez un gran gasto económico por parte de los Estados de los diferentes países en su lucha y prevención. Con este trabajo se muestra un ejemplo de intervención sobre uno de los indicadores de mayor riesgo en las caídas: el equilibrio. Una periodización de 5 semanas en las que se trabajan los 3 sistemas característicos del equilibrio: somatosensorial, visual y vestibular a través de las variaciones del centro de gravedad y estrategias ortostáticas. Cada sesión se compone de un total de 60 minutos. Las actividades se encuentran distribuidas en varios niveles para una progresión metodológica adaptada a cada persona mediante tareas de trabajo individual y tareas grupales.
[Abstract]: In the current demographic profile there is a significant increase in the aging population. The largest percentage of this population resides in the community. One of the main causes of hospitalization and death of the elderly are falls, assuming in turn a great economic expense on the part of the States of the different countries in their struggle and prevention. This paper shows an example of intervention on one of the indicators of greatest risk in falls: the balance. A periodization of 5 weeks in which the 3 characteristic systems of balance are worked: somatosensory, visual and vestibular through variations in the center of gravity and orthostatic strategies. Each session consists of a total of 60 minutes. The activities are distributed in several levels for a methodological progression adapted to each individual through individual work tasks and group tasks.
