Abstract
[Abstract]: The proposed project consists of creating a new style of peripheral device. The idea is to allow for a new way of interacting with a computer using a glove capable of measuring the flex level of each finger. Using the possible movements of each finger would permit the use of a computer without the need to move one’s hand. The flexion of each finger would be measured using potentiometers connected to a set of rings, calculating the absolute position in each instance. The signals are analyzed using an ESP32-C3 DevKitC 02v1.1 microcontroller. This microcontroller will also be used to communicate the positions through Bluetooth, a wireless protocol. In addition to general use, the glove is focused on easing the use of computers for people with certain mobility problems in their hands or wrists, and also helping in their rehabilitation. The proposal includes developing several programs that use this input as their primary mode of interaction: virtual instruments played with fingers, games based on flexing, etc.
