dc.description.abstract[Abstract] The essays included in this collection focus on the particularities of “absences,” an equivocal concept whose legitimacy has been epistemologically interrogated after Heidegger’s and Derrida’s use of the term, one that avoids its deterministic definition as part of a cartesian dualism – presence-absence – and favors instead a metaphysical approach. Under the premise of discussing the relevance of “absence” in contemporary fiction, which includes discussions connected to space, place, borders, or territories, the contributors to this volume explore diverse texts that delve into the intricacies and hindrances of ontological dispersion (both in terms of subjectivity and space).es_ES
