Abstract
[Abstract] In the controversy on language of poetry in the nineteenth century, while Lista defends the poetic idiolect, Romantics like Ochoa claimed for the natural one. Nevertheless, they weren’t able to find a new language for poetic thought or for reflective poetry. Finally Campoamor destroys any distinction between both languages. Just ahead, Bécquer will return to the autonomy of lyrical language. Bécquer got to feel the essential dichotomy between signs and objects, what transcends any limited opposition between lyrical or prosaic forms.
