In addition, special emphasis is placed on the impact of the 2008 economic crisis on the labour participation of migrant workers. Two niche areas of migrant employment are analysed: construction and care work work, and their relationship with both real estate speculation and the limitations of the welfare state in long-term care provision.[Resumen] Esta contribución analiza la presencia migratoria en el mercado laboral gallego, a través de una comparación con la situación de la mano de obra nativa. Además, se hace especial hincapié en el impacto de la crisis económica de 2008 en la participación laboral de la mano de obra migrante.
