AV: Monografías, (123), 156-161.0213-487Xhttp://hdl.handle.net/2183/40917[Resumen] Aprovechando las excepcionales condiciones topográficas y paisajísticas que posee el embalse del Pontillón de Castro en la población de Verducido, situada a escasos kilómetros de la ciudad de Pontevedra, se construye el nuevo centro de piragüismo de la localidad. Este espacio deportivo se sirve de las suaves corrientes de aire y de las dimensiones de la represa para lograr una pista de hasta 1.250 metros para responder a la demanda que se produce en Galicia de este tipo de instalaciones. La disposición de las piezas del conjunto sigue las curvas de nivel para adaptarse a la orografía que rodea el embalse. En contraste con la angulosa geometría del pabellón, las plataformas establecen un recinto sereno. Los edificios que lo conforman logran un equilibrio entre su integración en el paisaje natural y la singularidad requerida por la actuación. La construcción se sitúa en la zona sur de la lámina de agua por ser la de menor impacto ambiental; las demás edificaciones se soterran parcialmente, convirtiendo las cubiertas en lugares accesibles, mientras la torre de arbitraje se erige en un símbolo icónico. Los volúmenes se organizan en forma de U alrededor del área de acceso, facilitando la distribución de los tres flujos que confluyen en este espacio: el correspondiente a los deportistas, el relativo a los espectadores, y el más privado que contiene los movimientos del personal administrativo y de las autoridades, estructurándolos para minimizar los recorridos. Las distintas piezas se agrupan reconfigurando el borde del pantano desde la presa del embalse y abrazando la pista de competición hasta tallar en la ladera del monte las gradas que se destinan al público. Además de estos asientos integrados en la topografía, el centro deportivo también comprende un volumen que, mezclando diferentes grados de privacidad, engloba por una parte la cafetería y la tienda, separadas por un distribuidor de las oficinas, y las salas de arbitraje que se elevan en una torre enrasada con la línea de meta. Sobre la pieza que acoge los almacenes para piraguas descansa el gimnasio, orientando sus vistas hacia la re-presa, mientras el último edificio contiene los vestuarios de los deportistas, situados en la orilla su-reste de la lámina de agua. Los diferentes elementos construidos se relacionan a través de la elección de un material común para los pavimentos, la madera, que también sirve de soporte al elevarlos sobre pilotes, proporcionan-do continuidad a la orilla geometrizada del embalse. El cuidado diseño de los cerramientos, con una seriación vertical de carpinterías que organizan sucesiones de vidrios tintados en distintas tonalidades de verde, otorgan una imagen de unidad al conjunto desde la pista acuática, además de minimizar el impacto visual del complejo deportivo diluyéndolo en las masas boscosas que lo rodean.[Abstract] Taking advantage of the exceptional topographic and landscape conditions of the Pontillón de Castro reservoir in the town of Verducido, located just a few kilometres from the city of Pontevedra, the new canoeing centre of the town is being built. This sports space uses the gentle air currents and the dimensions of the dam to create a track of up to 1,250 metres to meet the demand in Galicia for this type of facilities. The layout of the pieces of the complex follows the contour lines to adapt to the orography surrounding the reservoir. In contrast to the angular geometry of the pavilion, the platforms establish a serene enclosure. The buildings that comprise it achieve a balance between their integration into the natural landscape and the uniqueness required by the project. The construction is located in the southern area of ​​the water surface because it has the lowest environmental impact; the other buildings are partially buried, converting the roofs into accessible places, while the referee tower becomes an iconic symbol. The volumes are organized in a U-shape around the access area, facilitating the distribution of the three flows that converge in this space: the one corresponding to the athletes, the one related to the spectators, and the more private one that contains the movements of the administrative staff and authorities, structuring them to minimize the distances. The different pieces are grouped together, reconfiguring the edge of the reservoir from the reservoir dam and embracing the competition track until carving the stands for the public into the mountainside. In addition to these seats integrated into the topography, the sports center also includes a volume that, mixing different degrees of privacy, encompasses on one side the cafeteria and the shop, separated by a distributor from the offices, and the refereeing rooms that rise in a tower flush with the finish line. The gym rests on the piece that houses the canoe storage rooms, orienting its views towards the dam, while the last building contains the athletes' changing rooms, located on the south-east bank of the sheet of water. The different constructed elements are related through the choice of a common material for the pavements, wood, which also serves as support by elevating them on piles, providing continuity to the geometrical edge of the reservoir.
