Sin embargo, actualmente esta relación se está convirtiendo en altamente conflictiva, tomando los incendios un cariz contra natura. Este artículo trata de analizar la relación entre bosque y fuego en un contexto sociocultural concreto, el de Galicia, presentando el bosque como fuente de conflicto en el rural y generador de controversia. Para ello, se analizan los resultados obtenidos del estudio de caso Incendios Galicia llevado a cabo dentro del proyecto de investigación MitigACT. Se exploran los diversos conflictos en torno al bosque derivados de las transformaciones de las últimas décadas en el rural gallego y se aborda cómo los organismos e instituciones enfocan el interés por el bosque y su sostenibilidad y cómo definen la lucha contra el fuego. A partir de una aproximación cualitativa basada en el análisis de datos secundarios de la bibliografía especializada y el análisis de discurso de las entrevistas en profundidad realizadas a la población local, se examinan cinco dimensiones del conflicto bosque-fuego (biofísica, demográfica, cultural, económica y política), destacando la importancia de integrar el conocimiento y las prácticas locales en los planes de gestión del territorio y en las estrategias forestales de desarrollo sostenible.[Abstract] The forest-fire binomial has coexisted for centuries. However, this relationship is currently becoming highly conflictive, with fires taking an unnatural turn. This article attempts to analyse the relationship between forest and fire in a specific socio-cultural context, Galicia, presenting the forest as a source of conflict in rural areas and a generator of controversy. To this end, this paper analyses the results obtained from the Incendios Galicia case study as part of the MitigACT research project. It explores the various conflicts surrounding the forest arising from the transformations of recent decades in the Galician countryside and addresses how agencies and institutions approach the interest in the forest and its sustainability and how they define the fight against fire.
