Este sondeo corta rocas metamórficas del' basamento cristalino en el noroeste del Macizo Varíscico de Bohemia. En el perfil de los primeros 1.000 metros predominan paragneises y anfibolitas con notables mineralizaciones de sulfuros.[Abstract] An introduction is given into the Continental Deep Drilling Program (KTB) of the Federal Republic of Germany, the purpose of the KTB, and the first steps to the realization of the pre-drilling KTB-Oberpfalz VB (NE Bavaria). This borehole is situated in the metamorfic basement of the northwestern part of the Variscan Bohemian Massif.
