Tal y como se indica en la exposición de motivos de la LRM, debido a la prolífica actividad reguladora de la UE, en 2014 se revisó el enfoque legislativo para integrar las normas europeas de reconocimiento mutuo en el ordenamiento jurídico español. El objetivo era mejorar la transposición y reducir la fragmentación y la complejidad del marco jurídico, facilitando así la actuación de los operadores jurídicos en un ámbito complejo.[Abstract]: In Spain, all the instruments of mutual recognition in criminal matters are regulated in a single legal Act – Law 23/2014, of November 20, on the mutual recognition of criminal decisions in the European Union (hereinafter, LRM) which is regularly modified as new European instruments come into force. As stated in the LRM’s Explanatory Memorandum, due to prolific EU regula-tory activity, in 2014 the legislative approach for integrating European mutual recognition rules into the Spanish legal system was revised.
