Abstract
conceptuales, actitudes y comportamientos ambientales.
[Abstract] Although the level of concern about the environment has never been so high in developed countries, this fact does not translate into responsible environmental behaviours. In front of this challenge, Environmental Education (EE) shows itself as a highly needed instrument to educate citizens that apply sustainable criteria to their behaviours. But, before designing any educational strategy to overcome the gap between the theoretical discourse in EE and its daily practice, we must review the reference models that give coherence to the tight relationships-not enough clarified-between environmental conceptual knowledge, attitudes and behaviours. According to this, we present an educational proposal for EE that saving the distance between theory and practice, achieves the transformation of attitudes and knowledge about the environmental problems into sustainable behaviours.
