Abstract

[Abstract] What is this summary about? This summary explains the findings of a clinical study called COMPACT, which included people treated with a medicine called SDZ ETN. In the COMPACT study, 1466 people from Europe and Canada were treated with an etanercept biosimilar medicine called Sandoz-etanercept (called SDZ ETN in this summary and sold under the brand name ErelziTM). The COMPACT study included people with three different rheumatic diseases that commonly affect the joints or the spine, but can also impact various organs, such as the skin and heart. These were rheumatoid arthritis, axial spondylarthritis, and psoriatic arthritis. What are the key takeaways?People experienced consistent treatment benefits, defined as improvements in the signs and symptoms of their disease when treated with SDZ ETN over 12 months. There were no new side effects with SDZ ETN in this study. What were the main conclusions reported by the researchers? The results of the real-world COMPACT study support the safe and effective use of SDZ ETN in people with rheumatoid arthritis, axial spondylarthritis, and psoriatic arthritis in everyday settings.
