Abstract
[Abstract] Proper system identification is essential to achieve good task performance and environmental interaction using soft robotics. While traditional model-based analytical techniques have been used, they are sometimes insufficient. Data-driven methods are a promising alternative. However, their use in soft robotics has been limited and little explored. This work adresses the use of Gaussian processes to identify the direct and inverse kinematics of a two-degree-of-freedom soft robotic arm driven by three tendons.
