Abstract
[Abstract]: The development of Football Fantasy involves creating virtual teams with real players from a league, where points are based on players’ actual performance. This format has gained worldwide popularity by offering an exciting and innovative sports experience for fans. This undergraduate thesis focuses on developing a web platform that significantly enhances this experience. The development of this system is supported by agile methodologies and a thorough planning phase that includes methods for estimating project effort and cost over time. To perform these estimates, the function point metric endorsed by the International Function Point Users Group (IFPUG) has been utilized, supplemented with historical data and regression-based estimation techniques. A critical aspect of the project has been integrating these estimation techniques with agile development practices and analyzing their compatibility. Additionally, as part of the project, a robust and scalable component architecture has been designed. This modular approach facilitated the development of the football fantasy web platform, enabling efficient integration of new functionalities and improvements, as well as rapid adaptation to changing user needs.
