Abstract
[Abstract] The contribution is focused on two textual units compiled after the death of Hildegard: the epistolary collection preserved in Ms. Lat. qu. 674 of the Staats-bibliothek in Berlin, and the so-called Solutiones XXXVIII questionum. Both texts testify to the existence of a friendship network around Hildegard which, in large measure, was justified by her prophetic reputation. The use of the metaphor was relevant in communication with the members of this network, as it is shown especially in the analysis of the Berlin letters, which also exemplify the com-plexity of Hildegard's allegorical constructions. Regarding Solutiones, in addition to the above questions, hypotheses are offered about its composition, and about the organic form that the text presents in the «Riesenkodex». The comparison with the material that preserves the «Berlin fragment» (a compilation that also transmits the Ms. Lat. qu. 674) provides evidence of the existence of draft responses that were ultimately discarded.
