Del todo y sus partes: pertinencia de la epístola a Francisco de la Cueva y Silva dentro de La Filomena de Lope de Vega

Abstract

[Resumen] Resulta indudable la necesidad de indagar en las características del género misceláneo para el estudio de La Filomena, de Lope de Vega. En este sentido, un análisis pormenorizado de la epístola primera -dedicada a Francisco de la Cueva y Silva- puede aportar algunas hipótesis con respecto a la pertinencia de ciertas inclusiones en la totalidad del libro. La problematización de la erudición "poeticida" en la mencionada epístola ayuda a comprender no sólo la contienda oblicua de Lope poeta con ciertos rivales, sino también un modo de calibrar el combate con la erudición y aglutinar −por medio de ese ejercicio defensivo− la totalidad fragmentaria del libro.[Abstract] It is necessary to investigate the characteristics of the miscellaneous literary genre for the study of La Filomena, by Lope de Vega. In this sense, a detailed analysis of the first epistle -dedicated to Francisco de la Cueva y Silva- can provide some hypotheses regarding the relevance of certain inclusions in the entire book. The problematization of the “poeticida” scholarship in this epistle helps to understand not only the oblique confrontation of Lope with certain rivals, but also a way of calibrating the combat with the scholarship and agglutinating −by means of that defensive exercise− the fragmentary totality of the book.
