Abstract
[Resumen] En este proyecto se ha realizado un extenso análisis de 4200 jugadas de “Pick & Roll”, una de las jugadas más populares y realizadas en los partidos de baloncesto a cualquier nivel. Se han estudiado, a través de distintas técnicas, después de preparar la base de datos para ello, las relaciones entre los factores principales a tener en cuenta a la hora de realizar cada jugada, como pueden ser: la defensa contraria, la decisión del jugador con balón o el tiempo restante. Se han detectado asociaciones interesantes entre estas variables, y se ha explicado el significado y la importancia de cada una. Finalmente, se ha desarrollado una aplicación web con shiny para automatizar el proceso de análisis.
[Abstract] In this project, an extensive analysis of 4200 “Pick & Roll” plays has been carried out, one of the most popular and made plays in basketball games at any level. After preparing the database for it, the relationships between the main factors to be taken into account when making each move, such as the opposing defense, the player’s decision with the ball or the remaining time, have been studied. Interesting associations between these variables have been detected, and the meaning and importance of each one has been explained. Finally, a web application with shiny has been developed to automate the analysis process.
