Acampa 2018, pola paz e o dereito ao refuxio por cambio climático: avaliando un evento de sensibilización social

Abstract

[Resumo] Nos últimos anos, a mal denominada “crise dos refuxiados” acapara os medios de comunicación nacionais e internacionais de todo o mundo. Moitas son as noticias que recibimos a diario sobre milleiros de persoas que intentan cruzar o mar Mediterráneo cada día para chegar a Europa en busca dunha vida mellor. Pero é esta información que nos ofrecen os medios de comunicación suficiente e verídica para coñecer o que está a suceder realmente? Segundo Pascual Serrano (2009) a resposta é clara: non. Fronte a esta desinformación nace Acampa pola paz e o dereito ao refuxio, unha iniciativa cidadá sen fins de lucro que ten como obxectivo a defensa dos Dereitos Humanos, o Dereito Internacional Humanitario e o Dereito ao Refuxio, a través dunha das dimensións fundamentais da Educación para o Desenvolvemento: a sensibilización. Acampa aposta pola creación dun macroevento de tres días na cidade da Coruña para sensibilizar en prol das persoas refuxiadas. O obxectivo deste traballo é valorar o impacto desta sensibilización social, que se pretende levar a cabo durante o evento, para conseguir mellorar ano a ano e chegar cada vez a un número maior de persoas con información de calidade que conforme unha conciencia crítica e un compromiso coa xustiza social.[Abstract] In recent years, the so-called "refugee crisis" monopolizes national and international media around the world. Many are the news we receive daily about thousands of people who try to cross the Mediterranean Sea every day to reach Europe in search of a better life. However is the information provided to the media accurate and sufficient to know what is really happening? According to Pascual Serrano (2009) the answer is clear: no. Faced with this misinformation, Acampa for peace and right to refuge is born: a non-profit initiative that aims to defend Human Rights, International Humanitarian Law and the Right to Refuge, through one of the fundamental dimensions of Education for Development: awareness. Acampa is committed to the creation of a threeday macro-event in the city of A Coruña to raise awareness in favor of refugees. The aim of this work is to assess the impact of this social awareness that is intended to be carried out during the event. This evaluation is intended to be able to improve the event year by year and reach a wider audience with quality information that conforms to a critical awareness and commitment with social justice.
