Abstract
[Abstract]: Simulation in particle physics consists of modeling the behavior of particles using software to study their interactions, test theories, and design detectors. In the CODEX-b project, developed at CERN, simulation software is used to optimize the design of a new detector, which will allow for the testing of various models proposing the existence of new particles. The software previously used for this simulation presents multiple problems related to complexity, structure, and maintainability. This work addresses the refactoring of the simulation software for CODEX-b, from the methodological approach of software engineering. Applying software development methodologies and principles offers numerous benefits to the developed software, ensuring its quality. This work aims to bring these benefits to particle physics research by developing well-structured, reliable, and maintainable software.
