Abstract
[Abstract]: Accounting's main function is to provide useful information for decision-making both to internal users and to third parties. However, in practice, this task involves the recording of multiple operations, such as sales, which do not usually present great difficulties from the perspective of accounting analysis, but which, given their high frequency, involve a very significant consumption of time (and, consequently, of money) and a high risk of error if they are posted manually. Therefore, this project tries to demonstrate the hypothesis that, under certain assumptions, it is possible to automate part of the accounting task to achieve greater efficiency and reliability, so that the entries can be generated automatically based on the existing records in the company without the need to proceed to its manual posting. For this purpose, we will use a basic business management tool such as Excel, whose mastery should be assumed for any person responsible for keeping a company's accounts and which, due to its widespread use and low cost, is usually available in most of the companies. In addition, this tool will be complemented by the use of ContaSol, a free accounting software that allows direct import of data from Excel. Finally, once the management of resources in the accounting task has been optimized, we will consider the use of the data entered in the system to generate reports that constitute a useful tool for making management decisions, so that, in a synthetic and clear way, they allow to know at all times the evolution of the most relevant variables of the company and, consequently, facilitate its management.
