Abstract
[Abstract] This paper analyses the competitiveness of the ports of general interest in Galicia, highlighting the movements of goods in these port authorities, in detail, taking into account territorial diversification and port specialisation. It also analyses the concentration of the different types of traffic. By means of a comparison with the situation in Spain, concentration and specialisation indicators have been used, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the Galician port system. It is concluded that the ports need to become pro-active agents in the attraction of traffic and services; and, at the same time, in developing connectivity that allows them to increase their insertion in global supply chains.
