Abstract
[Resumen] La Vía Verde es el nombre que reciben los recorridos peatonales y ciclistas en el medio natural
resultado del acondicionamiento de infraestructuras en desuso, principalmente antiguos
trazados ferroviarios o carreteras sin servicio. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar las iniciativas
de las diferentes administraciones y organizaciones para realizar las necesarias inversiones en
acondicionar todos los tramos y dotar de las infraestructuras necesarias, mediante la consulta
de documentación bibliográfica. El estudio ha permitido comprobar que la Vía Verde del Noroeste
de la Región de Murcia, que recorre 78 Km entre las ciudades de Murcia y Caravaca, ha sido
utilizada en 2017 por casi 350 mil usuarios, lo que representa el doble de hace 5 años y se ha
convertido en un modelo de desarrollo turístico, que favorece el desarrollo socioeconómico y
ambiental de toda una Comarca
[Abstract] The Greenway is the name given to the pedestrian and cyclist routes in the natural environment resulting from the conditioning of disused infrastructures, mainly old railroad tracks or roads without service. The objective of this study is to analyze the initiatives of the different administrations and organizations to make the necessary investments in preparing all sections and provide the necessary infrastructures, by consulting bibliographic documentation. The study has shown that the Greenway of the Northwest of the Region of Murcia, which runs 78 km between the cities of Murcia and Caravaca, has been used in 2017 by almost 350 thousand users, which represents double of 5 years ago and It has become a model of tourism development, which favors the socioeconomic and environmental development of a whole Region
