Abstract
[Abstract] Introducción.
[Abstract] Introduction. Hip osteoarthritis is a degenerative condition of the hip articular cartilage in which the cartilage is degraded and lost. Aims. To evaluate the effectivity of the physiotherapy techniques used in a 71-year old male patient operated on in the year 2001 for hip replacement. In 2010, at the time of the intervention, he was suffering from pain and limited mobility. Results. Improvement was observed in the range of motion, strength and propioceptive control. Decreased pain was also established. Conclusions. The physiotherapy intervention program proposed, based on manual therapy and therapeutic exercises (kinesitherapy), was effective in order to improve the patient's functionality.
