Abstract
[Abstract] The study explores the use of Creative Dubbing (CD) as a pedagogical resource for teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in Primary Education. This paper aims to investigate the perception of pre-service Primary teachers regarding the use of CD in the classroom. Employing a mixed-method approach, data were collected via a questionnaire administered to 94 students enrolled in the Degree of Primary Education at the University of A Coruña (Spain). A quasi-experiment was conducted to assess the applicability of CD. The findings suggest that teacher trainees find CD potentially effective, but its real effectiveness at the primary school level has not been tested. Studies exploring other educational levels reveal that the use of CD not only improves students' communicative skills in English but also enhances their motivation and creativity. The conclusions underscore the importance of considering CD for EFL teachers seeking to improve students' motivation, creativity, and communicative skills. In summary, this study contributes to the existing literature on Didactic Audiovisual Translation (DAT) as a pedagogical tool by exploring the perceptions of pre-service Primary teachers towards CD. The results may inform the development of innovative and effective teaching strategies in language Education.
