dc.description.abstract[Abstract] Considering the growing need for effective and accessible methods in surgical training, the potential of mixed reality (MR) was explored as an alternative to traditional methods. In pursuit of this goal, an immersive simulator for laparoscopy and arthroscopy was developed, combining virtual environments with gamification techniques. The approach integrates a simulator incorporating clinical exercises and a web platform that allows a training scenario to be customised. The evaluation using the System Usability Scale (SUS) revealed a perception of high usability, accompanied by improvements in the participants’ autonomy and training experience. The results demonstrate that MR, together with gamification, is a viable and effective alternative to traditional surgical teaching methods.
