As transformacións urbanas en Galicia dende a chegada da democracia ata a crise Covid

Abstract

[Resumo]: Galicia sufriu numerosas transformacións nas cidades e vilas dende a chegada da democracia ata a actualidade. Con respecto ás cidades, nun primeiro momento estas viviron un gran auxe debido ao éxodo rural e ao retorno dos emigrantes. Sen embargo, posteriormente comezaron a perder poboación como consecuencia da crise económica, a fuxida dos habitantes a municipios veciños e o “inverno demográfico” que sofre a Comunidade. Coa entrada do novo século parecía que as urbes comezaban a recuperarse grazas á chegada de inmigrantes e ao medro do sector terciario. Porén, esta situación non se consegue reverter debido a que a poboación segue a estancarse. No caso das vilas, estas tamén comezaron a medrar debido ao crecemento económico, o papel dos emigrantes e o desenvolvemento das industrias de recursos locais. En cambio, parece que as proxeccións tanto das urbes como das vilas non son moi esperanzadoras debido a que existe unha moi baixa taxa de natalidade, a mortalidade está aumentando paulatinamente e cada vez hai un saldo vexetativo negativo máis acusado.[Abstract]: Galicia has undergone many transformations in the cities and towns since the advent of democracy up to now. Regarding the cities, at first, they experienced a great growth due to the rural exodus and the return of emigrants. However, later on they began to lose population as a result of the economic crisis, the movement of the inhabitants to neighboring municipalities and the ‘demographic winter’ that Galicia is suffering. In the beginning of the new century, the cities seemed to recover due to the flood of immigrants and the growth of the tertiary sector. Yet, this situation cannot be changed because the population is stagnant. The villages also began to grow due to economic growth, the role of immigrants, and the development of local resources industries. Nonetheless, the timeseries projections of the cities and towns are not very encouraging due to the very low birth rate, mortality is gradually rising, and the natural increase is markedly negative.
