Depósitos coluviales y torrenciales del sector nororiental de Lugo (Galicia)

Abstract

[Resumen] En esta comunicación se estudian algunas formaciones detríticas del sector nororiental de Lugo (Galicia). Estos depósitos representan acumulaciones coluviales de vertientes y torrenciales de fondo de valle; desde el punto de vista litológico están constituidos por bloques y cantos de cuarcitas y pizarras con algunos cuarzos procedentes de materiales paleozoicos. La génesis de estas formaciones es compleja, pudiendo relacionarse tanto con procesos paleoclimáticos (periglaciares) como con antiguos mecanismos estructurales (tectónicos y litológicos).[Abstract] Sorne detritic formations of the northoriental sector of Lugo are studied in this reporto These deposits represent coluvionary acumulations of slopes and torrentials from the valley bottom, from the lithological point of view, these deposits are constituted by blocks and pebbles of quarzites and slates, with sorne quartzs coming from paleozoic materials. The genesis of these formations is complex one, and it can be connected with paleoclimatic proceses (periglacial) as well as old structural mechanisms (tectonic and lithological).
