Saltarse las reglas como refuerzo de la comunidad Explorando las condiciones para la aceptación del furtivismo marisquero en Esteiro-Muros (Galicia)

Abstract

[Resumen] Este trabajo profundiza en las condiciones para la aceptación del furtivismo marisquero en Esteiro-Muros, A Coruña. Se identifi can variables contextuales que modulan la permisividad del furtivismo marisquero y se analiza cuál es el objetivo de la creación de estas excepciones. A partir de una encuesta se profundiza en cómo las motivaciones para el furtivismo y los distintos perfi les de furtivos hacen variar el grado de aceptación del furtivismo en la comunidad de estudio. Se concluye que la tolerancia del furtivismo y la concesión de derechos informales de acceso y explotación de los recursos marisqueros ocurren sólo ocasionalmente y, cuando lo hacen, se reservan a personas comunitarias que actúan por motivaciones concretas, específi camente cuando actúan por Necesidad o para Autoconsumo . Se observa que la aceptación del furtivismo sirve como una herramienta de protección de la comunidad en un sentido amplio.

[Abstract] This work delves into the conditions for the acceptance of shellfish poaching in Esteiro-Muros, A Coruña. The contextual variables that modulate the permissiveness of shellfish poaching have been identified and analyzed. also is has studied how the combination of reasons for poaching and poacher’s profi les infl uences the degree of acceptance of poaching in the target community. It is concluded that tolerance of poaching and the granting of informal rights to access and withdraw the shellfi sh resources occur only occasionally. when it happens, the informal property rights are reserved for community people who act for specifi c reasons, mainly when they work out of need or for self-consumption. it is also observed that the acceptance of poaching serves as community protection.
