Contribución das mulleres españolas ao desenvolvemento da bioloxía mariña : unha revisión histórica con perspectiva de xénero

Abstract

[Resumo] No presente traballo analízase a situación das mulleres españolas durante o século XIX e principios do século XX (ata o inicio da Guerra Civil) co fin de coñecer a evolución e aportación das mesmas no ámbito da Bioloxía Mariña, concretamente no ámbito da Zooloxía. Para isto, realizouse unha busca empregando a base de datos Scopus e outras fontes de información como librarías e bibliotecas. Cando se fala de ciencia nos séculos XIX e XX, chama a atención a pouca presenza de nomes femininos coñecidos. Isto débese a que o proceso de incorporación das mulleres españolas á profesión científica estivo condicionado por diversos factores, entre os que destacan as forzas sociais, a tradición e a lexislación da época. O camiño que deberon percorrer estas mulleres para poder dedicarse á Bioloxía Mariña de xeito igualitario foi lento e difícil. Con perspectiva histórica, pódese dicir que actualmente a situación das zoólogas españolas na comunidade científica avanzou enormemente, mais continúan existindo remanentes da historia que cómpre coñecer para continuar progresando cara a igualdade real.[Abstract] Spanish women’s situation is analysed in this study from 19th to beginning of the 20th century (until the beginning of the Spanish Civil War). The ai mis to know the development and contribution of the women to the field of Marine Biology, in particular the field of Zoology. To carry out this study, it was made a search using Scopus database and other sources of information, such as bookshops and libraries. When people speak about science in 19th and 20th centuries, we must pay attention to the little presence of female names which are known. This is because the process of Spanish women’s incorporation to scientific profession was conditioned by different factors, among them we must highlight “social behaviour”, tradition and the law at that time. The way which those women had to follow to be able to work as marine biologist was slow and hard. From a historical point of view, we can say that the situation world has evolved hugely nowadays. But remnants of history are still latent, for that reason we must learn about the past in order to make progress towards a real equality.
