Abstract
[Abstract] Migration poses a challenge for compulsory education teachers around the world. The educational system has to work in several lines so that the foreign student integrates and becomes a full citizen. On the one hand, to work in intercultural education and, therefore, to provide students with the necessary communicative competence to develop academically and socially and, on the other hand, to clear the path for respect, dialogue and cultural interrelation. Thus, this article proposes a series of reflections of a methodological nature and teaching proposals to deal with the teaching of Second Languages from an ethno-pluricultural approach. In this sense, oral tradition offers more advantages than disadvantages: it collaborates in the process of respecting ethnicity and in the healthy construction of a polyhedral student’s identity, reinforces self-esteem, encourages plurilingualism and respect for multiculturalism and also collaborates in the development of the communicative activities of the language (understand, express, interpret and mediate).
