Abstract
[Resumen]: La Iglesia trató de controlar todos los pasos de la ceremonia del bautismo a fin de evitar que se cometiesen abusos o se
prescindiese de la ortodoxia debida. En este trabajo se pretende realizar una aproximación a la realidad de la administración
del bautismo en la diócesis de Lugo, con el objetivo de profundizar en el nivel de respeto de la población y los eclesiásticos a la
normativa existente sobre el ritual a seguir. Para ello, nos valemos de la información de partidas bautismales y otros documentos
como procesos judiciales y administrativos que son comparados con los manuales y los tratados de la época.
[Abstract]: The Church tried to control all the steps of baptismal ceremony in order to avoid abuses or disrespectful practices to ecclesiastical orthodoxy. This paper intends to make an approach to the reality of the administration of baptism in the diocese of Lugo, with the aim of verifying the level of obedience of the population and the ecclesiastics to the normative about ritual. For this, we use the information of baptismal registers and other documents such as judicial and administrative trials; also, the information is compared to contemporary treatises and manuals.
